Move Out of the Boxes in Virtual Meetings
We’ve been in virtual meetings for 8 months or more depending on when you started your virtual meeting journey. Most of us are still sitting in Zoom boxes or Microsoft Teams meetings without having the delightful experience of what the technology is offering us. This blog hopes to remind you that we can take the best of both worlds and create a new hybrid of meeting. This new type of meeting will transform and surpass anything we’ve experienced in meetings before. That is my vision for what this time of being forced into 100% virtual meetings can teach us.
Today, I talk to three experts from three different continents on what they are learning about humanizing virtual meetings. Their experience is showing us that more than anything people are missing the human connection. They still want their meetings to be efficient and productive. But, they miss the casual banters as people enter a physical meeting room. They miss the extraneous noises and the catching up with people at the end of the meeting. They miss the jokes and the story telling that happens during the meeting. Let’s dig in and begin this journey together of re-humanizing virtual meetings. We are going to show you a bunch of videos so this is really a vlog rather than a blog. We are at the cusp of doing something greater than we are doing now. Stay tuned! We still have lots to learn but we can do this because we are resilient, resourceful, adventurous and brilliant human beings!
